Jesus is willing

Mark 1:41
Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!”

How do you imagine Jesus feels about sickness? Far too many Christians question whether it’s God’s will to heal them. Perhaps He wants them to learn patience and endurance as they struggle with ill-health? Perhaps continuing to serve God despite infirmity gives Him glory? Perhaps our health in this life isn’t a priority and it’s in heaven we’ll receive our healing?

These are lies of the enemy intended to malign God’s character and keep people in bondage to sickness.

The leper came to Jesus, begging on his knees: “If You’re willing, You can make me clean.”  Jesus’ heart was filled with compassion. The New Testament Greek word for compassion is splagxnízomai. It’s the verb arising from the root noun splagchnon, which means “the internal organs,”– the heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys. Jesus felt compassion in his innermost parts. He reached out and touched the unclean man and healed him. He was willing then and He’s willing now.

If you or someone you care about is unwell in body or mind, Jesus is just as full of compassion and willing to heal you as He was to that leper. He already released the power to heal when He went to the cross. Isaiah 53:5 says “by his wounds we are healed”. But unlike the leper you don’t have to come begging because Luke 10:19 says Jesus has given you the authority to overcome all the power of the enemy.

Don’t doubt God’s willingness to heal today and don’t remain in bondage to infirmity any longer. Jesus wants to set you free.

You can say “In the name of Jesus, infirmity of body and mind must go!”

Lord Jesus thank You that You have compassion and You’re willing. Thank You that by Your wounds, I am healed. Amen
