A Beautiful Love Story

Genesis 24:67
Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her;

Isaac needed a wife but Abraham didn’t want a Canaanite woman for his son because they were idol worshippers. So he sent his servant back to his own relatives who were God-fearing to find a wife for him. The Lord led him straight to Rebekah, the granddaughter of Abraham’s brother, Nahor. Rebekah was very beautiful, a virgin, kind and generous hearted. When the servant realised she was the one chosen by the Lord he gave her valuable gifts of gold, silver and expensive clothes and he also gave costly gifts to her brother and mother. And so Isaac married Rebekah and he loved her.

The love story of Isaac and Rebekah is a picture of how Jesus loves us. Isaac represents Jesus and Rebekah, represents us, His bride. The servant represents the Holy Spirit.

Just like Rebekah, God has chosen you for His Son. Ephesians 5:27 describes the bride as radiant, without stain, wrinkle or any other blemish, holy and blameless. In other words, she is radiantly beautiful and perfectly pure!

You are very beautiful and pure just like Rebekah and the Holy Spirit has given you precious gifts. And just as Isaac loved Rebekah, Jesus loves you!

Today the Lord wants to give you a fresh revelation of your identity as His beautiful bride.

Lord Jesus, thank You that I’m chosen, I’m beautiful and pure. You’ve given me gifts from the Holy Spirit and You love me. Amen
