Live the Abundant Life!

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Jesus said He is the key to life in abundance.

The Greek word translated life is zóé which means physical and spiritual life. All life is derived from God and Jesus said He came to give it to us in abundance. But He wasn’t just talking about eternal, spiritual life, He was also referring to our physical life because zóé refers to both. The word translated abundantly is perissos which means more, greater, excessive, exceedingly, beyond what is anticipated, exceeding expectation; the life Jesus came to give us is exceedingly good.

Too often believers attribute the suffering that they go through as the will of God. But Jesus made it very clear that it’s the thief that comes to steal, kill and destroy. The apostle John also explained in 1 John 3:8 that the reason Jesus came was to destroy the devil’s work. The devil’s work is anything that steals, kills and destroys because Jesus said that is the only thing he does.

If you’re suffering any type of disease, addiction, strife, poverty, opposition, fear, confusion or chaos in your life, recognise that it’s the devil’s work. Satan wants to steal your health, your relationships, your peace and joy, and do whatever he can to destroy you. It’s time to take a stand against his schemes.

Lord Jesus, I believe You came to destroy the devil’s work in my life. I trust You to lead me out of oppression and into freedom. Today I receive Your healing, peace, joy, wisdom, provision and the abundant life you came to give me. Amen
